obscure places of the earth

Idaho is my new favorite state that I've never been to. Before it was Minnesota, but then I went there.

ex astris dementia

Okay, the other thing about the astronaut situation is this: It is acceptable for astronauts to go homicidally crazy...if and only if they do so while they're in deep space. If they go crazy because they've been marooned somewhere out in the depths of nothingness, and if they start methodically murdering their former comrades one by one, only to be taken out by the last survivor. It also helps if they're under the influence of some malevolent alien force.

I officially give up

Okay, the latest news item to strike me to the core is the revelation that an astronaut apparently tried to kidnap and murder someone.

NASA was pretty much the last institution I believed in, even a little.

Astronauts are heroes. They bravely defy the barriers of nature. They teach us about the universe. They give thumbs up signs and they wave little American flags. They protect us from aliens.

They do NOT get involved in whackjob kidnapping and murder schemes and take really crappy looking mugshots!

I'm through with this species.
