Monday, October 17, 2005 sporting commentary Much ado has been made in recent days of the Chicagotown White Stockings and their recent victory in the base-ball matches. I would prefer to see these impressive physical specimens engaged in more practical labor in the stockyards, but I suppose I am pleased that the resultant revelry is apparently keeping the working classes drunk and distracted while honest businessmen such as myself are allowed to pursue our endeavors relatively free of molestation. And so huzzah!
Replies: 1 Comment Go, White Sox! I only say that because my firm is throwing a party this afternoon, complete with free food and beer. Anything that lets you drink alcohol while not working (and getting paid to do so) is a fine thing in my eyes. Just thought I'd share. |
