Well I could entertain ye with many a campaign trail tale but my own words fail me at this moment. Other people's are ringing through my head:
-Bon Jovi (He was singing for Kerry in Wisconsin today and I presume he sang that)
"Methinks I could die nowhere so contented as in the king's company, his cause being just and his quarell honorable..."
"But if the cause be not good, then the king himself hath a heavy reckoning to make..."
"And gentlemen in England now abed will think themselves accursed they were not here...whilst any speaks...that fought with us...UPON SAINT CRISPIN'S DAY!!!"
"One more day before the storm, at the barricades of freedom...when our ranks begin to form, will you take your place with me? The time is now, the day is here! Raise the flag of freedom high, do you hear the people sing? My place is here, I fight with you! One day more! Tommorow we'll be far away, tomorrow is the Judgement Day, tomorrow we'll discover what our God in Heaven has in store, one more dawn, one more day! One Day More!"
Lots more I'm not thinking of, but as I've been saying to everyone: God willing we shall meet again in a new era of hope and light...
Oops -- I didn't mean for my last post to come out snarky. It was supposed to be ironically snarky, but the irony crumbled under the snark's relentless offense.
It wasn't snarky, it was funny.
Can I say I'm happy about Obama? I'm happy about Obama. Obama is God, and Rory is his prophet.
Now *that's* the religion they need in the Middle East. Obamaslam. I will have so many wives...

But God has lots of boulders to push up a very steep Hill. Here's to him.
Yeah, Shakespeare wrote some great plays. Henry V, Malcolm X, ...
But he committed the unforgivable gaffe of being European, and thus anything he says doesn't apply to the American political process.
Oh yeah and I got plenty of Bush/Cheney slogans:
"It takes an insane religious fanatic to protect you from other insane religious fanatics"
and
"Preserving innocent lives. (In embryonic form only)"
Oh right, "For Fuck's Sake! Kerry/Edwards 2004" I believe that was the recently mentioned Jon Stewart although I think I came up with it independently. Happens when geniuses are on the same wavelength.
I also thought of Stalin's famous command to his generals in WWII: "Not one step backward." Stalin was a dick but he did beat the Nazis so that counts for something.
Henry the Fifth is definitely the dominant metaphor for these days though. I've watched Branagh's film several times in the last few days and it keeps getting better:
"O God of Battles, steel my soldiers' hearts! Possess them not with fear! Let them think not on the reckoning or on the opposed numbers! Not today, O Lord, *O not today*!
Rory, you forgot to post your election slogan for Kerry. You should -- it's wonderful.
I know too late to propose a reelection slogan for Bush, but here goes:
"Bush/Cheney 2004. Hey -- at least we didn't burn down the Reichstag!"
And here's a bumper sticker I want for my car:
"I'm misinformed -- and I vote!"
